The Evil Within 2
Rating: R18+
‘The only way out is in. You are Detective Sebastian Castellanos and at your lowest point. But when given a chance to save your daughter, you must enter a world filled with nightmares to bring her back. Horrifying threats emerge from every corner as the world twists and warps around you. Will you face adversity head on with weapons and traps, or sneak through the shadows to survive?’
The Evil Within 2 is all about the character Sebastian Castellanos, who goes into the stem program in order to save his daughter. Even though the last time he was in stem, left him with PTSD about all the events that took place in there. Showing the strong feelings of love that Sebastian has for his daughter and that he would do absolutely anything for her. Including risking his life in order to save hers. Having to defeat villains, monster and big bosses. With the fun and joy of side missions and being able to obtain keys, files and collectables on each of the 17 levels. Gives the game a lot to work with and the players who play this game a lot to get out of. Having an appeal to most gamers.
There are many interactions with different characters within this game too. Meaning if you’re a story mode gamer lover, this may just be the perfect game for you. As there is game play and a decent amount of story being told to you fellow gamers. Quite evenly spread throughout the whole game as well.
The Evil Within 2 is a great game in the way that the instructions that characters give you are easy to follow. Lots of scary things to experience. I always get goosebumps after one specific game experience, no matter how many times I’ve played the game and know what to expect. Still sends a chill down my spine. I hate it, but I absolutely love it at the same time. No other game has ever able to get that reaction out of me. If any of you have experienced that within a game please let me know in the comments below and which game it was that you were playing. As I’d love to find more games like that.
Another great thing out of the many things is that in this game you’re able to choose which gun you’re using, and upgrade it over the course of the game play. Making you become more bad ass and stealth as you go along. Side note though, it gets harder the higher level you begin the game play at. Finding weapon parts all over the place. I’d be shook if you didn’t come across any throughout the first chapter of the game.
Although this game is quite well put together, there are some negatives towards the game. Like the first one, there were still a few unanswered questions at the end of the story. You were also left on a cliff hanger at the end too, so will there be an Evil Within 3? Who knows, but there is a lot of speculation about it, as since there has now been a first and second, all things come in threes…
If they do create a third evil within, there is no doubt about me buying it. Don’t care how much it costs me. It’ll be worth buying 100%, especially if it means that all my questions will be answered in reference to both the games before it.
This game is nicely pieced together and if you couldn’t already tell, I am very biased to this game as I just think it’s amazing and everyone over the age of 18 should play this game if the opportunity ever came by. I even got my girlfriend to play the game and she absolutely loved it just as much as I did and she’s not even a hard core gamer. Only other gaming experience she had was playing Sims or racing games with her brother. So for a game to get that compliment from someone who doesn’t know much about gaming, you’d think you would absolutely have to check out this game in your spare time. Soundtrack to the game is very chilling and creepy, goes so well with the game play. Sounds mean everything in this game too. As to whether something is about to creep up behind you or if you’re about to head into danger. Music cues are so well timed.
I give the game 5 controllers out of 5. There aren’t many negative things I can say about it, other than the fact that I wish there was more to play and explore. But I’ve done that to the absolute max.
